Feelings of Shame or Failure

by | Jan 9, 2024 | Family Law

It is very common for people going through divorce to feel a sense of shame or failure that the marriage did not work out. Sometimes parents who are divorcing feel like they are causing harm to their children by the act of divorcing their spouse.  These feelings can cause a parent to delay what is in their family’s best interests because they think they are supposed to “work it out” for the sake of the children. While that is sometimes possible, it is simply not always a reality.

The attorneys at Frank Amar Matura understand that divorce and child custody matters are sensitive and that the people involved are going through a lot of emotions. We take a non-judgmental and practical approach to divorce and child custody matters.  Our approach is combined with extensive knowledge and expertise that help our clients make the best of very challenging and emotionally-charged situations.

While feelings of shame or failure can be understandable, it is important to know that sometimes divorce and child custody arrangements need to happen.  The law in Arizona requires that the best interests of children be considered by the Court when making determinations regarding legal decision-making and parenting time. This law can be found in Arizona Revised Statutes at A.R.S. §25-403.

If you find yourself in a situation like this, the best course of action can be to find attorneys who will work hard to come to the most fair and equitable solutions possible. At Frank Amar Matura, we know how to navigate the divorce and child custody process in a way that is legally sound and done in the most reasonable and amicable way possible. In turn, this can help the healing process begin.

Client Reviews

Very honest

November 2009 I retained Mr. Frank almost two years to represent me in a visitation modification filed by my ex-husband. Mr. Frank quickly and efficiently became familiar with my case and was very honest about all the potential results that could occur. I truly feel that Mr. Frank had my children’s best interests in mind…
