The Law Firm of Frank Amar Matura is a highly successful litigation firm specializing in Family Law, with offices in the Biltmore area of Phoenix, Arizona for more than 40 years.
We are often asked: “What is the one thing that your firm does best, maybe better than anyone else?” —
And the answer is: Handling high-conflict contested child custody cases.
Why? Because we’re committed to protecting children. Our experienced and compassionate attorneys care deeply about children and are willing to fight as hard as it takes to ensure that their best interests are protected. But caring deeply is not enough. Child custody cases are difficult and complex. In order to win, an attorney must be a highly-skilled litigator and a savvy negotiator, someone who is up to date on the latest legal research and courtroom technology. That’s where our attorneys stand out.
Decades ago, our founding member, Gary Frank, began his career as a business attorney. One day, a father who had been referred by one of Gary’s clients came into the office. He was desperate and asked Gary to represent him in a contested child custody case. At first, Gary was reluctant, but this man was clearly a stable, loving father, and the child was in potential danger in the hands of the other parent. Gary agreed to accept the case. After a long litigation culminating in a trial in front of a judge, he prevailed. The child was placed in the care and custody of Gary’s client.
The Law meant something. With strong representation, you can save a child, protect a client’s assets and their future, and change lives.
For 40-plus years now, Gary and his firm have specialized in Family Law, with a focus on high-conflict child custody matters, and complex high-asset divorces.
A law firm is only as good as the attorneys who work there. This is another area where Frank Amar Matura rises-above the crowd.
Logan Matura, a partner at the firm, grew up in New York and graduated from New York School Law, in Manhattan. She moved to Arizona in 2020 to be closer to her family, and since that time she has devoted her career to Family Law. Logan has served as President of the Young Lawyers Division of the Maricopa County Bar Association, and has presented at seminars, teaching lawyers the latest developments in digital courtroom technology. She is a fearless litigator and a strong negotiator, having prevailed in numerous contested trials and court hearings and settled many cases in Mediation.
Hanna Amar, another partner, joined the firm in 2016. She grew up in Phoenix and graduated from Arizona Summit Law School. Hanna committed herself 100% to Family Law and has devoted her career to developing the level of skill it takes to become a top-notch litigator. Over the years, she has successfully handled many contested trials and hearings, and negotiated favorable settlements for clients. Hanna is currently on leave and is spending her days raising her own family.
Renée De Jesus is our newest associate. Renée grew up in Phoenix and has a Bachelor of Science Degree from ASU in Family and Human Development. She graduated from City University of New York Law School and has been a practicing attorney since 2020. Renée worked at the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project for three years, representing detained children and victims of human trafficking. She understands what it means to represent people whose very lives, and the lives of their children, are at stake — and she has both the compassion, the unwavering commitment, and the litigation / negotiation skills, to back it up.

Many lawyers brag about being “aggressive.” But that’s a red flag. A lawyer who is blindly aggressive can (and often does) cause the client to miss opportunities to settle their case peacefully through negotiation. It escalates the conflict and results in lengthy, unnecessary, and expensive litigation. That only benefits the lawyer. Our attorneys have years of trial experience and provide strong, assertive representation in every case. However, if an opportunity presents itself to resolve the conflict by negotiating a favorable settlement for our client, we will certainly explore that option.
